Oft-read: Tafsir of Juz 30
The 30th Juz of the Quran, or Juz Amma consists of 37 of the shorter Surahs that were mostly revealed in the Makkan era. Most of these Surahs are memorized by Muslims and read often in the daily prayers. This class will aim to comprehensively study the themes of these Surahs; Allah’s creation, the reality of this life, the day of judgement, the afterlife and Jannah and Jahnnam.

Living in an era where etiquette and mannerisms are not being given their due importance, we are often unaware that one of the barriers keeping us from benefitting from the Quran is not having the right etiquette. The 40 Essentials: Nawawi's 40 Hadith Explained

Struggles: Wisdoms of the Makkan Seerah
Having been sent to the people of Quraysh in Makkah, one of the most corrupt societies of the time, delivering the message of Islam was no easy task. The Makkan Era is a must study for Muslims living in the west in order to find guidance on how the Prophet (s) stayed true to his principles while being in a society that persecuted him for no reason other than being Muslim. This class covers the extremely relevant era of the Seerah of the Prophet (s) from his birth till his Hijrah to Madinah with a special focus on the wisdom and lessons that are to be extracted.

illuminations: Wisdoms of the Madinan Seerah
After having struggled for 13 years, the Prophet (s) begins to see his efforts come to fruition. The blessed city of Madinah is illuminated with his arrival and the establishment of the Muslim community begins. It still comes through, with its fair share of trials as the Prophet (s) works on developing future leaders while having to defend Islam by engaging in battles with the enemies. This class covers four of the ten that were guaranteed Jannah by the Prophet (s). The Followers: Lives of the students of the Companions
Often overlooked, the students of the companions, or Tabiun, followed the companions in their righteousness and servitude. They may seem more relatable to us in some respects due to them not having seen the Prophet (s). This class will explore the lives of a select few of them, such as the ascetic, Hasan AL-Basri, the scholar, Ata Bin Abi Rabah and the polymath, Ibn Sirin.

Awestruck: Miracles of The Prophet ﷺ
Every Prophet was sent with miracles as proofs to their claims of Prophethood. These miracles have been studied and analyzed by the Muslims since the early generations. The ritual that we perform five times a day needs to be well prepared for. Salah is our primary connection with Allah and we don’t want to be performing it in the wrong way. Ghazali‚'s 40 Essentials I: An Adapted Summary of the Ihya
The human has a lifelong struggle is finding a way to grow closer to Allah in an effective manner. One of the last works Imam Al-Ghazali wrote was a comprehensive distillation of his Revival of the Islamic Sciences or Ihya. He lays out the book in a format of 40 essential principles of Islamic spirituality that guide the reader to improving one’s relationship with both the creator and creation. This class covers the first half of the book: The Essential Creed, and the Essential acts of worship.

Hardened Hearts: Heart Softening Hadiths from Tabrizi's Mishkat
The Chapter on Heart softeners (Kitab Al-Riqaq) is one that is found in nearly every Hadith collection. A tried treatment by Muslims throughout the centuries, reading this genre of Hadith softens the heart in order to enable it to be receptive of Allah’s orders as explained by the Prophet (s). Imam Tabrizi weaves together the most pertinent narrations of this genre in his masterpiece, Mishkat Al-Masabih. A must-take class for anyone struggling with the state of their heart.

Code Of Manners: Imam Al-Bukhari's Al-Adab Al-Mufrad
Imam Al-Bukhari’s Sahih is well known, but he also wrote a dedicated work on mannerisms titled Al-Adab Al-Mufrad. In this class, we will focus on a select number of Hadiths of the Prophet (s) from this monumental work that will help us grow in our spiritual development through perfecting our character.

Graduation
Requirements

22 courses are required to be completed in order for a student to graduate from the Miftaah Online Seminary. A student can choose from our catalogue of courses based on the subject and genre they wish to pursue. Each department has its own track to earn a certificate of completion. Students will also be given a certificate at the completion of each semester. Student transcripts are available upon request.

* Graduation is not a requirement. A student may pick and chose any course and join for any one semester.
